Dear Brother Ron Halbrook,
"I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper
and be in health even as thy soul prospereth" (3 John 2)
Grace Mercy and Peace be with you
From God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
I thank God for His loving providence that made possible your generosity and the generous heart of the US saints in providing food assistance to the Christians who are in dire need of help especially in this time of COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis.
Thankful as well for the stewardship in handling the funds relayed to me by dear Brother Rody Gumpad.
Last Friday, October 9, 2020 I received the full amount 10, 450.00 Philippines Pesos which is the equivalent of $ 217.
Friday October 9, 2020 I purchased 40 kilos of rice and assorted items for Tieza St. and Pili St. church of Christ, Dadiangas North, General Santos City and also for some Christian families.
Prior to distriburion, we first offer a prayer to God, then have Bible Study about "Trusting In God" Psalm 57, sermon outline of Brother Ron Halbrook. We also sung hymns "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus" which give as encouragement to live always in God's will even in the crisis moments.
Php 1859.00 was spent to purchase the items plus the fare going there and back in Tieza St. church of Christ.
Saturday October 10, 2020 around 7:00 o’clock in the morning Dad went to our boarding house in Tieza St. Dadiangas North, General Santos to allow me use his motorcycle going in Maasim.
Five kilos of rice, bread and sardines had been given to dad from the items that I purchased last Friday.
Around 1:00 PM I went to Maasim to distribute food assistance.
By God’s loving providence I and preachers local churches in Amsipit, Maasim, Sarangani Province gather together around 4:00 PM in the church building of Kyumad church of Christ, Amsipit, Maasim, Sarangani Province.
I first preached a lesson “Trust God Till The Danger Passes” Psalm 57, a sermon outline of Brother Ron Halbrook. In this time of Pandemic Crisis, may this be a reason more and more one will have full commitment to trust in God.
Then after the sermon 1 and half sack of rice equivalent to 75 kilos of rice had been given to the preachers and some Christian families, equally distributed to them 5 kilos each.
Preachers who had received 5 kilos of rice were:
1. Jolito Dela Corta of Guo church of Christ
2. Swet Yamashita of Thakayo church of Christ
3. Fredderick Isla of Kyumad church of Christ
4. Arnel Moyak of Kyumad church of Christ
5. Renie Moyak of Kyumad church of Christ
6. Tong Alejo of Tahakayo church of Christ
7. Bembol Alejo of Lunay church of Christ
8. Gorio Pelon of Pepe Ranch church of Christ
9. Ronie Isla (received by his wife) of Pepe Ranch church of Christ
Php 2680.00 was the cost of the rice plus 150 pesos of fare from Poblacion, Maasim going to Kyumad.
After eating dinner with the preachers, I decided to go back in Libas to distribute food assistance as well.
Around 8:00 o’clock in the evening, we gathered in Libas. I first preached a lesson “Trust God Till The Danger Passes” Psalm 57. We sang hymns to glorify God in His loving providence.
1 sack of rice cost Php 1790.00 was distributed to the needy members.
Then upon the first day of the week we gather in Libas church of Christ, Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province. I preached a sermon “Is There No Balm in Gilead?” Jer. 8:22; Jer. 46:11. There is balm in Gilead, there is cure, there is hope.
Sin made this world sick but thanks to God that there is cure, there is hope and there is Physician. The gospel of Christ is the cure and Jesus is the Physician (Rom. 1:16-17)
Brother Ron Halbrook, thank you so much for your love in helping us in this time of crisis.
May God continue to bless you, your family and all the US saints.
In Christian Love,
Men Mark Tumandan
