Preaching Yesterday Dec. 26, 2010

As it is our duty as a preachers in 2 Timothy 4:2 to "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."
Brother Allan and I preached yesterday in our respective congregations of our Lord.

As usual in the morning, I preach in Looc Kamanga church of Christ while at the same time brother Allan preach in Kamanga church of Christ Maasim Sarangani Province. When afternoon comes, we go there in Libas Kamanga church of Christ as we are the two preachers there.

After our preaching in Libas, we decided to go there in Kyumad, Maasim where both brother Allan Muyak and his father are preachers. It was already 9:00 PM when we arrived. We shared our experiences in preaching the gospel with joy. If I am not mistaken, Kyumad is less or more 15 kilometers from Libas while Libas is approximately 7 kilometers from the coastal area in Mangelen.

It was so late in the evening from Kyumad (Kyumad is at located at the top of the mountain like Libas) when we arrived in the coastal area, so brother Allan Kimnon and I decided to sleep in the house of his sister in the flesh there in Tinoto Maasim for our safety purposes. We could not sleep well because we did not have blanket, and I have no jacket...until now, I am feeling cold.

I am so happy and thankful to God that we arrived in GenSan in safe manner. To God be the Glory.

An Appeal for Support - Brother Wilfred Madeo

Last Saturday, December 11, 2010, Brother Allan, dad and mom and I went there in Molo Libi, Malapatan Sarangani Province, we were there because we baptized one man in Poblacion Malapatan few kilometers away.

As we talked with brother Wilfred Madeo, the preacher in Molo Libi church of Christ Malapatan, I could see in his face with his wife that they were not yet eating there breakfast although it was lunch time already.

In deepness sorrowful, he told me about his hardship, he showed me the letter of the US Brother named Larry Schmidt member of Stallings Drive church of Christ in Nacogdoches, TX USA. In the letter stated that he can no longer able to financial support him in Brother Madeo's work due because he(Larry) was being fraud by a certain man named George including the 200 more individuals (his relatives, close friends, brethren and sisters in Christ, family members).

Wilfred Madeo was converted on 1998 and started preaching since then. In fact, few years ago, he and dad were always in Gospel Meeting together. A picture below was taken during the baptism ministered by he and dad.

Brother Wilfred Madeo and I.

He had once 150 US dollars of support a quarterly but cut off because of what happened as stated above. He is now asking a favor, to help him in his work, he works with a strong and stable church. 50 US dollars a month or how much, or just to replace his former support is enough.

I am so cautious and selective in sending out appeals especially in recommending like this, but I can't stop my feeling toward the situation of this brother. I have no regular support but I am contented in what I have now. A sister in US help me now and also her cousin, and a local church there in Arizona also sometimes help me. But if a saint or local church would like also to help me, then I am willing to receive it as long as they are member of the Lord's church. A brother in Dubai told me to help me but he sent me once, after it, he no longer send help even letters. I do not know what is the reason.

I am hoping and praying that God will provide for this appeal through someone or a local church there.

Anyone who would like to ask more information regarding the said brother, feel free to ask.

Mike

9 Souls were added in the Lord's body through baptism this day, Dec. 4, 2010.

After Jesus declared in Matt. 28:18 that "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." and commanding "19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" and " 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matt 28:19 was accomplished, and now we pray for verse 20 to be accomplished so that these souls will grow and be faithful to the end.

Acts 8:12 "But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women." They believed Philip's preaching therefore they were baptized.

The 9 folks also gladly believed the gospel, the things concerning the "Kingdom" therefore no wonder they were baptized, added in the Lord's church (ACTS 2:47).

Dad preached a good lesson.

They were 8 here.

30 minutes later, Minando Joaquain arrived and want to be baptized, so I baptized him immediately. He is always attending our worship there in Libas, so he already believed. The situation is like when the Eunuch said to Philip "See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?" (ACTS 8:35-36).

Brother Allan Kimnon, my dad (Siamen Tumandan) and I were the preachers present. Dad did a good sermon, although there were some private Bible Studies we made I and brother Allan. They are truly converted by our preaching because every time they asked questions, we could answer them with care and candor.

They are now joining in worship and member of the congregation of our Lord that meets in Abtam Libas, Maasim Sarangani Province where Brother Allan and I serves as EVANGELIST.

Thanks and God Bless us all. To God be the Glory.

Mike
