Thank you so much for having the spirit of a generous soul in which also influence the lives of many saints there in which they steward to you their sacrifice of help for us through your love.

We always thank God in every remembrance of you.

Around 5:00 PM, August 17, 2020 I received the amount 24, 225.00 Philippine Currency (equivalent to $500.00) relayed by Brother Rody Gumpad through Palawan Express Pera Padala with Transaction Code EXT-8-10420-ZAW.

 

Around 5:56 PM, August 17, 2020 I relayed to Brother Luciano Sangoan the amount Php 9, 600.00 (equivalent to $200.00) as per instruction of yours through e-mail dated August 11, 2020.

Following the instruction to help Christians in dire need of food assistance on the same date, around 7:00 PM I with my wife riding in a motorcycle (borrowed from dad) and also Brother Luciano Sangoan, riding his Bajaj Motorcycle went to Poblacion, Maasim, Sarangani Province to purchase four (4) sacks of rice equivalent to 200 kilos.

The 2 sacks was given to the saints in Libas church of Christ; distribution was made around 10:00 PM. We took no time to delay the distribution considering time is of an essence, there is no certainty of travelling – lockdowns is always at hand.

 

The saints are so happy even I, the preacher in the area with Brother Luciano Sangoan my fellow preacher in Libas are so thankful of the love of the US saints in helping us.

 

The following morning, August 18, 2020 we went to Pepe Ranch church of Christ to inform Brother Gorio Pelon that 2 sacks of rice had been purchased for them. I gave him 500 pesos; 200 pesos for the transportation of the rice from Poblacion to Pepe Ranch then 300 pesos for his allowance and family needs.

 

Then August 21, 2020 the distribution of rice was made by possible in Pepe Ranch church of Christ.

Brother Gorio Pelon, a local preacher in the area is so grateful in distribution of food assistance to the members considering the deep struggle in the midst of this crisis.

We are always grateful to God for the love of Brother Ron Halbrook and the US saints in helping us to sustain in this difficult time.

During the distribution we had first offered a prayer to God, sang hymns in glorifying God then study a lesson outline of Brother Ron Halbrook about "Trusting In God Till The Danger Passes" Psalm 57:1.

 

After giving of 2 sacks of rice to Pepe Ranch church of Christ Amsipit, Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province I and Brother Gorio Pelon then went to Kyumad, Amsipit to give noddles, sugar and 5 kilos of rice each to two families; family of Brother Manolang Diamalo and family of Brother Fredderick Isla.

 

Through the funds, 4 pcs of repack rice consist of 5 kilos had been purchased in KCC Mall, General Santos City in which had been given to family of Brother Fredderick, Brother Diamalo, Brother Johnjay and Brother Virgel Alimpolos.

 

After the distribution of food assistance to Christians in dire need of help, we had a Children Bible Study in Pepe Ranch church of Christ.

 

I lectured about "Control What You Say", James 3. Young ones should know that words always convey ideas and our tongue should be used to edification in such way we build each other.

 

"Whoever guards his mouth and tongue

Brother Luciano served as leading in prayer and in songs.

 

The By God's loving providence I had a Bible Study with Brother Johnjay Masanda here in downtown area of

General Santos City on August 22, 2020.

We studied about the "Three Dispensations of the Bible: Patriarchal age, Mosaical Age,Christian Age". Understanding these things will equip one to divide rightly the word of God.

After the Bible Study, he received loving food assistance to augment his family needs during this difficult times.

OPENING WORK IN SITIO MALYANG, POBLACION, MALAPATAN, SARANGANI PROVINCE – AUGUST 1, 2020

The spirit of the song is always in our hearts in which the reason we climb every mountain, cross every river, go down to the valley to seek and save the lost through the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

It is the love in Christ that motivates us to do the work in the Lord; it is the fear and reverence to Him that persuade us to persuade also the people to obey God considering the wrath of God is revealed in heaven in all unrighteousness of man.

 

 

While the world is seeking for cure for the Corona Virus 2019 Disease, the servants of God are proclaiming the cure for the spiritual illness that destroys the souls of men and women, young and old.

By this reason, I and Brother Luciano Sangoan by the mercy of God went to Sitio Malyang part of Barangay Poblacion in the Municipality of Mapatan, Sarangani Province last August 1, 2020.

 

Around 4:00 AM, dad, Siamen D. Tumandan Sr. first attempted to travel going to the area as we initially plan but considering his old age (there are restrictions set by the government) then his Medicial Certificate has just expired, he went back home. Dad then just allowed me to borrow his motorcycle to use for preaching.

Sitio Malyang is the area where Mr. Virgel Masanda Alimpolos and his clan located as part of their Ancestral Land.

Through the years there has no local church of our Lord there thus the area is fresh in hearing the pure gospel of our Lord.

Mr. Virgel had already heard the gospel through the Bible Lecture held in Royal Hotel, General Santos City last July 26-27, 2018 in which the theme was “The Bible Is the Word of God”.http://gospelwork.blogspot.com/2018/07/2-days-bible-lecture-at-east-asia.html

 

He also invited Mr. Luciano Sangoan (now a brother in the Lord) when he knew that there was Bible Lecture again in the Royal Hotel.

Through the August 30-31, 2019 Bible Lecture in Royal Hotel, Mr. Luciano was converted in the Lord and since then started preaching the gospel of our Lord. He is now my co-worker Libas church of Christ, Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province and also devoting his time in Gospel Meetings in the area.

 

Thus Brother Ron Halbrook, it is a great blessing to know Brother Virgel Alimpolos. He is also the one who invited a certain denominational pastor named Emeldo T. Around 10:30 AM I, Brother Luciano, Mr. Virgel (not yet converted during this time), Brother Emeldo and a certain young man named Johnjay arrived in Sitio Malyang after 2 hours of travel by motorcycles from General Santos City.

Brother Luciano Sangoan drove his Baja 100 Motorcycle then I drove the Yamaha XTZ 125 of dad.

Around 1:00 PM after we had eaten our lunch we began our Bible Lecture.

I lectured about “Salvation” tracing back the history why there is sin, then that God promised a Savior who is Jesus Christ then now that all authority is in Christ, everyone should submit to Him in all things. It was almost 2 hours lecture; the doctrine is new to them.

Brother Emeldo was encouraged about the message of the word of God, then Brother Luciano Sangoan led us prayer to God.

The people were amazed about the teaching, very new to them. We emphasized to them that there is simplicity in worshipping God, salvation belongs to the Lord and also worship must be desired by God.

After the lecture Mr. Virgel asked us to go to the site where the proposed church building be erected when there be new local congregation of our Lord in the area.

Then after these things, around 4:30 PM from Sitio Malyang we travelled back home considering there was a heavy rain already. The road was so difficult considering it is not yet concreted by cement and asphalt.

From Sitio Malyang to highway it took us 2 hours of travel.

Considering that Mr. Virgel has a house in Proper Poblacion, I and Brother Luciano then took the opportunity to persuade Mr. Virgel to be baptized. Apostle Paul had said “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men...” 2 Cor. 5:11

Mr. Virgel was persuaded to be baptized for the remission of his sins. The same hour he was baptized by Brother Luciano Sangoan in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Most assuredly, there are angels in heaven rejoicing to the salvation of one soul.

 

After then we first drunk coffee there and ate of bread to refresh our body then went on our way back to General Santos City rejoicing over the salvation of one soul.

The one who invited Brother Luciano in the Bible Lecture in Royal Hotel was the one whom Brother Luciano administer the baptism for the remission of his sins. What a great providence of God.

 

Now, Brother Virgel says recently that the people there wanted us to be back, there are people who were persuaded to be baptized for the remission of their sins. What a great blessing that the word of God is planted in every sincere hearts.

It is indeed necessary that the seed of the kingdom which is the word of God to be planted in the hearts of men and women and thus who sows must have patience and longsuffering to do so. It is a blessing to serve God always.

As I am writing this, Brother Luciano Sangoan is here in my side.

FOUR SOULS WERE BAPTIZED DURING GOSPEL MEETING IN DATAL LIRA, NOMOH, MAASIM

I am happy to share about our Gospel Meeting in Datal Lira, near Lamsaging part of Barangay Nomoh, Municipality of Maasim in the Province of Sarangani last Thursday, July 30, 2020.

 

Around 8:00 PM of July 29^th, 2020 I traveled from General Santos City to Maasim. Then a heavy rain that I experienced along the way; thanks to God I arrived safely in Libas. I spent a night in the house of my father-in-law in Libas then around 7:00 AM, July 30, 2020 I traveled to Pepe Ranch, Amsipit to meet Brother Gorio Pelon.

 

Around 10:00 AM I together with many brethren preachers traveled to the venue for Gospel Meeting.

 

Therein Brother Allan Moyak first preached concerning "The Old Testament and New Testament", explaining that we are living now under the New Testament.

I then followed a lesson about "Simplicity of New Testament Worship", emphasizing that worship must be in accordance to the revealed word of God. Unless worship is done by faith, then it is not accepted by God. Cain offering to God was rejected only Abel’s offering and also the sons of Aaron who were Nadab and Abihu were devoured by fire when the two men offered strange fire to God. Considering these facts should internalize to the heart of every sincere man to worship God in fear and reverence.

 

Brother Gorio Pelon then preached "The Will of God", that the Father's will is in the Son.

 

The last lesson was preached by Brother Edward Diamana about "Purpose of Baptism” that one needs to be baptized to be saved.

 

Brother Rommel Dazon was our song leader, then also had said many things to exhort and persuade the people to be baptized for the remission of their sins.

 

It is a blessing that Brother Diamalo Manolang had invited me to attend always in this noble job.

 

Four souls humbly submitted themselves to Christ by water baptism. Oh, how precious is the Salvation in Christ Jesus.

 

Around 7:00 PM of July 30, we ate our supper at the house of Brother Manolang Diamalo. We had also a chance to further Bible Study my uncle Jeremiah Bantilan. It is my sincere prayer that his whole family will be converted in the pure gospel of Christ.

 

Due of the good works that Brother Manolang and Brother Gorio Pelon have been doing to Uncle Jeremiah, my uncle has been blessed and grateful. There is indeed wisdom and truth in the word of Jesus “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matt. 5:16

 

Thank you so much for all the love by prayers and financial assistance.

 

The Yamaha XTZ 125 of dad has been my mode of transportation in the two schedule going to the area. I thank God for His loving providence.
