FIELD REPORT : MAY 26-27, 2018 GOSPEL WORK
Dear Brother Ron Halbrook,
"I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper
and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." (3 John 2)
Grace, Mercy, and Peace be with you
From God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He said to His disciples “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth”. Thus because of this authority He commissioned them to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching all things whatsoever I commanded you” Then the assurance is that “and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:18-20
This is now the responsibility and duty of every gospel preacher thus in May 26, 2018 at Pepe Ranch church of Christ, Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province where Bro. Gorio Pelon and Bro. Ronie Isla are serving as preachers, a 1 Day Gospel Meeting was held and the result was 6 souls immersed in water for the remissions of their sins.
The theme of the Gospel Meeting was “Following the New Testament Pattern in 21st Century”.
It is a joy seeing Bro. Jun Balunto, Bro. Allan Kimnon and Brother Rochie Madeo who were also there. Bro. Allan and Rochie serve as our song leaders.
Brother Jolly Julom started his lesson about “The Pattern in Sure Foundation of the Church”, then I, Men Mark A. Tumandan followed the lesson about “The New Testament Pattern”. Dad, Siamen D. Tumandan preached about “Pattern of Identity” , Brother Wilfred Madeo also delivered his lesson about “The Pattern in Giving” then Bro. Rudy Falate about “The Pattern To be Listed in Heaven”.
Apostle Paul reminded Timothy to “Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.” 2 Tim. 1:13.
This is also applied in day to day life even in taking an examination of the students. There is a need to follow the instruction given before answering. Example, when the instruction is “Write T if it is True and F if it is False”, No. 1 is 2+3 = 5 is TRUE .
While it is true that 2+3=5 but the fact still remains that the instruction is just write the letter “T”.
The Scripture says “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Prov. 14:12
May 27, 2018 – In Mountain Libas church of Christ, Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province I then preached a lesson about “The Truth About Prayer” a lesson in the Preceptor Magazine I translated into Cebuano Version.
Around 8:00 PM, at Kyumad, Amsipit, Maasim, Sarangani Province I attended a funeral service because the sister-in-law of Brother Gorio Pelon died. Brethren such as Bro. Ronie Isla, Gorio Pelon, Jun Balunto and Bro. Reynie Moyak were there also.
I preached a lesson that I wrote about “What The Rich Man Learned About Death?” Luke 16:19-31 wherein he learned that first there is no more mercy, second, earthly things are temporary and third death is separation.
The lesson was followed by Bro. Jun Balunto about “The Resurrection”.
It is a blessing to preach the gospel of our dear Lord Jesus Christ. It is a joy and blessedness to encourage one another in truth and living a Christian life.
I would like also to ask for your prayer to Jay R Malatin, 16 years old who was one of the six souls baptized into Christ. He is already 16 years old but still in grade three then the worst thing he stop in schooling.
When I baptized him, I never knew that he is an orphan. Later when I came back and have conversation with him I learned that he never seen his mother and father. They both died when he was still 7 months old.
My heart is heavy and sad, I said to my heart “I am in deep difficulty even dad and mom are here for me. I am blessed that mom and dad take care of me. Now, there is this a child, who don’t have a mom and dad.”
I remind Bro. Gorio that James said “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:27
He is living now there with the brethren in Pepe Ranch church of Christ especially to Bro. Gorio Pelon.
Thank you so much and God bless.

Dear brother Mark, Greetings in the name of Christ. I thank God that I can read your report and know you are pressing forward to preach the gospel to the lost and to edify the saints, to comfort the grieving, and to encourage orphans. May God bless your labors.
In Christian love,
Ron Halbrook
