The Love of God In Christ (John 3:16)
John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Intro
The love of God is pure than the love of men. The praise of men is deceitful, but the love of God is pure.
I. For God So Love The World
A. The magnitude, supreme love of God to the world (Romans 5:8; 1 John 4: 19)
II. That He Gave His Only Begotten Son
A. The Sacrifice, the Basis of Salvation (Rom. 6:10; Heb.9:22)
III. That Whosoever Believes In Him
A. Anyone, regardless of race, nationality, Jew or Greek (Rom. 1:16;
Gal. 3:28)
B. Believe, means total obedience to the Son that includes repentance, confession and baptism (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:16; Rom. 15:11)
IV. Should Not Perish
A. No longer in the wrath of God (Rom. 1:18)
B. Not included to those vengeance by Christ on Judgement Day ( 2 Thess. 1:7-9)
V. But Have Everlasting Life
A.The Reward, means forgiveness and now reserve for having Eternal Life
B. Forgiveness is present, eternal life is future as promise (Eph. 1:7;
Col. 3:13; Rom. 6:23; 1 John 2:25)
Invitation
John 3:16 is one of the misunderstood, misquoted, and misapplied verses in the Bible by the denominations.
Submit to Christ now in water baptism as obedience to Him.
